Two years has passed since I had the accident on Tenerife. Two years had passed since my last competition. On that very day, the 9th of February I swam the 100m breaststroke in 1.13" and later that day I fell down and broke the cranium from left to right ear. When I 3,5 weeks later woke up paralysed in the left side of my body nobody thought I would ever function "normal" again. Nobody expect myself. It has been two years of hard work and a lot of support from my friends. Last Saturday I collected all the courage I have and climbed up on the start block of my first competition, the Swedish Masters, and swam the race that has won me most fame around the world. I didn´t win this race and didn´t brake any record. I swam 5 seconds slower than 2 years ago BUT for me personally it is my biggest victory ever. I was shit scared as I stood there on the startblock feeling dizzy but I didn´t fall down this time. No, I dove in and swam a strong and solid 100m breaststroke. When I the next day swam the 200m medley relay with my friends Lennart, Leo and Hasse I felt like I was flying. And I did, WE did! We broke the European Record with 2 seconds! I feel so grateful and humble for my recovery and comeback. THANK YOU. EXPECT THE BEST!
